A few weeks ago, we had the chance to photograph a very special wedding… or should I say I had the chance to photograph – Troy was busy being the best man! We were at our friends JJ and Steph’s wedding, and we couldn’t be happier for them. They had their reception at the GORGEOUS Society Room in Hartford, CT, known among other things for having stunning vaulted ceilings and formidable bank vaults. It was a beautiful (if scorching hot) day, but that didn’t stop us from taking a break for a carousel ride! The whole day was amazing, and extra special for us to be able to capture. We also want to thank our friend Harry for lending a hand while Troy was tending to his best-manly duties – a big helping hand, and much appreciated.

We love November weddings at Aurora Photography! Even though October tends to be the popular month for fall weddings, we have always found November to be a charming time of the year to get married. That’s why we are so excited to be working with Jennifer and Frank, who are getting married on 11/13/10. We met them through Lian of Mikado Weddings, an up-and-coming boston-based wedding planning service. Nora and I are very excited to be working will all three of them in the months to come!

This past weekend, we spent Saturday with Alex & Greg, shooting their wedding in beautiful York, Maine.  They were supposed to be getting married outside with a beachy backdrop, but thunderstorms changed their plans a little!  Luckily, we got a few brief moments of clarity, in which we dashed outside for some outdoor photos.  Their reception was at the Union Bluff Meeting House, which was gorgeous!  Here are a few favorite shots, including one of me getting prepped for rainy-day shooting!!

What is Aurora for Life?

the idea behind Aurora for Life started when we realized that our clients are why we do photography.  When we photograph a couple on their wedding day, we get to be with them at the inception of their new family, and we think that’s pretty special.  So, why stop there?  Aurora for Life is us looking forward to watching each family we photograph grow and flourish.  We want to be there for all the life-changing events – pregnancies, births, family milestones, bat mitzvahs, sweet sixteens and beyond.  Here’s to the journey.
